Interactive Audio Installation

An Acoustic Art installation that allows people to activate, manipulate, or otherwise affect the production of sound. Interactive Audio Installations use a range of techniques and technologies to facilitate such “audience participation,” including optic sensors, pressure pads, cameras, microphones, and simple mechanical switches and levers. These mechanisms may simply “turn on” an installation or initiate certain sounds, or they may allow passers-by to create or manipulate sounds. (see also Acoustic Art)
