Music for Videos

Music for Videos: Recorded music that’s available to license for use in commercial or personal video productions. Any copyrighted piece of music must be cleared by the rights holders before it can be used in any video production that is distributed on the Web, on television, or via a digital storage/player device. Music licensors (most often, agencies that represent the artists, publishers, and record labels that own the rights to the music) require that a fee be paid for use of a given piece of music based on its intended use, mode of distribution/broadcast, expected audience size, and other variables. Licensees must secure permission, pay the required license fees, and sometimes give credit to the artist and/or licensing agency within the video production.
