Sound Design For Environments

The practice of designing what people hear in a given environment; the intentional manipulation of architectural elements, use of particular building materials, and introduction of designed sounds within a given space to produce the desired aural experience for occupants. Environmental Sound Design teams may include acousticians, composers and sound designers, sound-masking experts, and branding professionals working in concert to create a specific mood or “vibe” that supports their clients’ customer-experience goals.
